2018 Recap

What a year it has been…

High School
I am now officially a high school graduate – that still sounds weird to say even though graduation was back in May.

Wisdom Teeth Surgery
What is the best way to spend the first day of summer? None other than to have all four wisdom teeth removed! It was also my first “major” surgery.

From scholarship weekends to orientations after orientation I am now officially a college student! I headed eight hours away from home to study dietetics at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN and I couldn’t feel more excited to start my career. I have also been fortunate enough to help conduct “research” with a retired professor. The research aims to expand the world of lactose free products. My end of the research so far has involved a lot of baking and taste testing.

I competed earlier this year in February at Junior Weightlifting Nationals. Unfortunately, I had some issues finding a place to continue weightlifting in college but after some trials and tribulations, things worked out. However, after take a two month break, I lost a significant amount of mass and strength. As of right now, I am currently in the process of rebuilding my strength and hopefully plan to compete at Junior Nationals again this upcoming year.
