You may have access to a full kitchen, but most students live out of a mini fridge at some point in their college journey. Personally, I had the luxury of an unlimited meal plan so I ate most of my meals in the dinning hall. However, sometimes the dinning hall selections can get a little mundane or you might not have time to run across campus before class.
Regardless of the situation you find yourself, I always recommend having at least a few snacks on hand in your room in case hunger strikes.
